Thank you for taking the time to look at my web page.
I am delighted to be continuing my Councillor commitment, having been elected to Chilham Parish Council and also Kennington Community Council !
I am here to support all residents in : Shottenden, Old Wives Lees, Chilham, Little Burton Farm and the rest of Kennington in Ashford.
The past 6 years, since returning from 22 years abroad, I have served as a committed and hard working Borough Councillor in the Ward of Saxon Shore. Since May 2019, I have been a member of Chilham Parish Council, and since June 2019, as member of the newly formed Kennington Community Council. I am also a Governor on the East Kent Hospital University Foundation Trust which operates the William Harvey, Kent and Canterbury and QEQM Hospitals.
As a Business Development and Marketing Executive with my own Consultancy, and as a result of my 6 years as a Borough Councillor, I have considerable experience in solving challenges and sourcing solutions to local issues. Planning, housing, anti social behaviour, flytipping, transport are all areas where I have had considerable experience over the past 6 years.
I care about my role as a councillor and the people I represent. I have established “Shottenden & Old Wives Lees Matters” to keep in touch on key matters on Facebook, and will continue to use the Facebook Page established by Cllr Marion Martin for Little Burton Farm- “little Burton Farm Matters”, as well as this webpage and my twitter account.
I am based in both Shottenden and Ashford and I love the great outdoors – with walking and nature watching, some of my favourite pastimes. I play squash regularly, and enjoy travel, with Italy a favourite for a quick getaway.
My role as a Councillor is both challenging and immensely fulfilling – I do believe one can make a difference – listening goes a long way – and when residents know that you take them and their problems seriously – then you know they will be on your side too!
